Looks like Twitter isn't just Drumpfs. These two have been trading comments about, not just the others understanding, but the proactive regulation of AI before it becomes a thing. Is Musk just being a scare monger or is Zuckerberg being overly optimistic and (possibly) blinded by dollar signs?

    Thoughts?

I'm not worried about armed robots deciding to rebel. I am worried about mass unemployment and social unrest when most of the jobs that involve driving, municipal maintenance, low-end retail or telephone-based customer service get automated away over the next 25 years. We're in danger of an ever bigger segment of the population being made to feel like 'surplus people' as the 21st century goes on.

I had similar thoughts with Google's self-driving car. Once that perfected (within suitable margins) theres no reason that couldn't be applied to buses, trucks etc. The only reason I can think of as to why the various unions aren't getting in on the act is because they don't believe that this is going to be a thing.

Unions in the UK have already stopped driverless railways making much progress, so far. And railways are much, much easier to automate. On the other hand, truck drivers don't tend to be unionised.
