It was illegal to carry weapons within the boundaries of Rome itself and slaves were often forbidden from carrying weapons (obv didn't apply to gladitorial slaves).

Julius Caesar's Conquest of Gaul is one source that mentions traditional prohibitions against entering Rome armed. There was a religious boundary around the city, the crossing of which with a weapon was an act of sacrilege.

You over state the religious prohibitions and seem to be claiming Ceasar instigated the prohibitions on weopon in certain areas of Rome

Moreover it was permisible to carry clubs for self defence and weopons for hunting

So not Ceasar disarming the citizenry to further his tyranical agenda

I didn't say it was; he didn't need to because the urban populace was already disarmed.

The city of Rome proper was a religious precinct. Read Caesar's 'Gallic Wars'.

    Meh

Does the book you refer to explain how Julius Ceasar disarmed the plebs to tighten his grip on power?

You could argue that Pompey did however

Caesar didn't need to disarm the plebs. You missed that part again ?
