The reason the EU is being blamed is that the EU is the only party that wants to put up a hard border in Ireland. I wonder how long people in Ireland will carry on believing that the UK forced them to put up a border when the UK isn't? That's going to be some hefty cognitive dissonance to work through, but ultimately the penny will drop.
If the UK doesn't want a hard border then perhaps they should propose a solution

The fact is a quarter of the cabinet want a hard border, a quarter want to stay in the EU and the remaining half haven't got a clue what to do

It is totally fallacious to suggest the EU want to empose a hard border between north and south. The EU would prefer the UK to stay in the Union. The UK has elected to leave and thus has issues to resolve

Quit blaming everyone else for the fucked up situation you have created and get your fingers out of your arses and start coming up with solutions, you old whinge bag

The solution would be this 'we arent going to put up new infrasfructure. We request that the EU not force the people of the Repiblic of Ireland to'.

Cullion is most likely a closet liberal with deeply ingrained masochism stemming from Catholicism.

I'd say you'd be hard pressed to find any Irish people that have been living and working in the UK since before the late 40s

But that is besides the point. The Windrush episode illustrates how bureaucracies, either through malign intent or benign incompetence can affect people's lives
