it's not healthcare Trump wants to end, it's food safety laws. or at least his handlers do.

You're talking nonsense. What he wants is to be able to sell the perfectly safe food that's sold in the US and Canada in the UK in return for dropping tariffs on UK imports to the US.

large swaths of American agricultural production is illegal in Canada... completely separate from the protectionism thing.

Which US-produced foodstuffs do you genuinely believe to be unsafe?

US dairy products do not meet Canadian health standards, and taste really weird. It was a major sticking point in the recent NAFTA talks. guess what your new dairy standards are going to be.

I also question their meat handling standards, but I believe they have similar ones to ours, so I'm looking at my own house on that issue; but much lower then EU standards.

Would you like Canada to be stricter about how it handles its meat?

I only know scant details, and only from a cooking perspective; but the doneness of meat is heavily regulated due to risks of E.Coli that do not exist across the pond. My understanding is over here the cook is more heavily regulated where on you side the abituare bears the responsibility in regards to contamination.

but dairy is a whole other matter you may soon discover.

surely restaurant serving regulations have 0 impact on cross-border trade with the US ?

If we get US milk over here, and it's shit, then I'll just stick to organic whole milk or the like.

It's not like they can force us to stop making our own milk and labelling it differently.

market forces will do that. Though it's an unlikely example, it's just topical over here. Speaking generally though, a US trade deal will absolutely require lower food safety standards as a central point; also hope you like soy.

You dont understand market forces. Free markets dont lead to restricted choice. You dont have fewer options at the supermarket because of free markets. Im not going to have fewer types of milk to choose from if we allow an additional type of milk into the country.

Your education has filled your mind with nonsensical crap.
