Most of the battles that he lost and territory that he ceded were intentional, a part of his overall campaign strategy. Only on the internet could a man like this be defined as anything less than a great general.

"Skilled in guerrilla warfare"? They were fucking farmers and blacksmiths, not a standing army with all the support which that brings.

Plus the British Forces tried to steal everything they could from the local population.
