It was so good until 2 or 3 episodes ago. Obviously the original writer of the books has a bit more skill than the HBO folks who are going beyond what he has completed so far.

I watched the first two episodes. I read the books twice over before that but made peace easily with the author directing his energy towards the small screen. Have read dozens of better books and series since then :)
