Default Straight Eye for the Queer Guy

I want some opinions on hip textiles from guys who don't know houndstooth from herringbone. Just picture a shirt or jacket made out of the following stuff and tell me what you think.

    Madras:

    Dr. Who Tweed:

The first screams someone ironically dressing like it's the seventies. Like a derby hat made of that, with a tight corduroy leisure suit to go with it. The middle wouldn't go as a shirt, but a nice jacket, sure. The last reminds me of material for slacks.

1st pic would look good as a hat; also shorts.

2nd pic looks like a picture of my carpet :-/.

3rd pic looks like it would make a kickass coat (and no I don't mean suit jacket, although could obviously work for that).

1st pic, something a gal would wear in memory of Cobain (considering I'm from the Pacific Northwest).

2nd pic... fuck, and 3rd pic...? Hell if I know, I don't analyze clothing materials from 2 inches away.

1st looks like a blanket you would use at a relatives house when sleeping on their couch.

2nd looks like the same material they used to make office cubicle walls with.

i'd wear anything made with the 3rd material.

I've actually seen a jacket made from the madras; it's a bit much, though you can work it on a pair of shorts.

Second one is a safe bet.

I had a jacket made of the third. It was a Soviet army officer's jacket and it was a little bland looking. Might be able to make something like that work if it was tailored well though.

I'd take a vest, yes a vest, made from any of them.
