So last weekend, after helping out at the President's Cup (a Judo tournament) for two days, I ended up going to JFAX (an anime convention near Grand Rapids) for the day.
Awesomeness ensued. A friend of mine had a table there, and was willing to let me put some inventory on it in exchange for minding said table for a few hours.
Turns out, anime cons are one of the places I need to be selling my wares. By halfway through the day, I had sold every pair of fingerless gloves I owned, including a couple pairs I didn't make with retail in mind and had brought along just in case someone fancied them.
On top pf of that, I also just so happened to run into Foxd and his awesome girlfriend while wandering and admiring the ware's of vendors and the costumes of congoers.
I was once again clad as the the Red Mage, and once again, the epitome of dashing grace and dorkiness all at once. The Enthusiasts were documenting costumes at the front door, and you can see me in all my glory here on their website.
I had been hoping to find three other Red Mage-clad patrons within, so we could band together and form The Best Party Ever, but this was sadly not to be.
I did eventually meet up with a Black Mage, however, and this awesome photograph ensued:
Fuck. Yeah.
We would also occasionally shout "FIRAGA!" and "THUNDAGA!" at one another when passing in the convention halls later on.
I signed up to vend at another convention (Glass City Con) in a couple of weeks, and have started working on my next cosplay costume:
Billy Lee from double dragon.
In short, I spent a day acting like a total dork, and in the process met up with friends, made a bunch of money, advanced my business, and had a blast.
My life pretty much rules.
