View Full Version : Turkey and WWIII?

2nd December 15, 01:30 AM
Russia starts moving in on ISIS.

Russian planes fly over Turkish airspace.

Turkey shoots down Russian planes (Turkish planes violate other country's airspace all the time and nobody seems to care).

Russia says they will respond.

A week later they send a warship off of Turkish waters.

Putin blames Turkey for having a secret alliance with ISIS.

China sends aid and commits troops to Russia to "help bomb ISIS".

------------- End of current situation --------------

------------- Other relevant facts ---------------

The USA is in North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

Turkey is in North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

If Turkey feels like it is being attacked they can invoke Article V of the NATO treaty which says that an attack on one NATO member is an attack on all and compels all members of NATO to help their ally defend itself. Currently this is not likely to happen, but if Russia really puts the pressure on Turkey... who knows?

ISIS is priming for terrorist attacks in Europe, America, and Israel (or so they say in their propoganda).

Certain European countries are experiencing a "refugee crisis" where they can't sustain the influx of refugees from the Middle East due to ISIS even in an economic fashion. They simply can't afford it. The USA may soon follow, but is a long ways off.

However, the USA may also experience another influx of illegal immigrants from Mexico if cartel violence starts up again.

The USA is 'supposedly' enemies with ISIS but puts out little wrist-slap bombing strikes but not before forewarning about the strikes and cancelling 3/4 of them and returning the planes and drones without having fired. Should also be noted that ISIS core members were US trained and tons and tons of US military equipment and weaponry that would normally be scuttled after shipping out was left in perfect working order in huge warehouses for ISIS to find.

The USA and the "coalition of the willing" (ie Britain and Australia) have helped completely destabilize the Middle East by toppling the dictators they had originally set up by propping up fanatical Islamic factions and killing a crapton of people, innocent and otherwise.

The USA and Israel are super buddy buddy allies. If Israel gets attacked the USA will most certainly help.

However, Obama and Netanyahu really REALLY do not like each other. At all. Can't stand the presence nor sight of each other.

Israel and Turkey are NOT friendly toward each other currently. Turkey was the first Muslim nation to reach out to Israel diplomatically, but now they have suspended all defense ties with Israel and downgraded diplomatic relations with Israel.

Turkey has been super friendly with Hamas lately.

Hamas is still considered a terrorist organization by Israel, the European Union, and the USA and still plans to take over Israel and remake it completely into an Islamic nation, has actively provided sanctuary and refuge in the Gaza strip to known Muslim Brotherhood insurgent groups who helped topple the Egyptian government, and still conduct public debates on whether or not to publicly attack western interests in the Middle East to aid these efforts.

Hamas currently is at odds with the Palestinian Authority who have cut ties from the joint-government they had when they were elected to power and accused them of running a "shadow government", whatever that means.

Hamas wants the expansion of ISIS in the Gaza Strip to stop.

Hamas cooperates with ISIS in the Sinai Peninsula for smuggling operations and hits against the Egyptians. They appear to be playing a two-faced game with ISIS, who they ideologically oppose.

------------- Tangential -------------

The mob in New York City says they can protect people from ISIS and terrorism better than the police and wants people to "give them a try". I think this was a subplot point in the movie "The Rocketeer" but with Nazis.

Yeah, they won't give up their oligarchy based government that easily.

Putin is a powerful leader, but he is by no means the end all say all.

Russia has just outed Turkey for buy oil on the cheep from IS & big conjecture doing the rounds is that Turkey shot the plane down because Russia were bombing oil supply convoys from IS to Turkey.

This would give more backing as to why Turkey has been so resistant to helping the Kurds fight IS (besides arming Kurds wanting to seperate from Turkey)

If it's true (and I believe it has some basis in truth) then Turkey is undermining the NATO pact.

And that does not bode well for them.
