Swiss police arrest 6 top FIFA officials on charges of corruption and money laundering, at the behest of the FBI

Let's face it, for the Swiss to take action against financial irregularities it must be pretty bad

The minute fucking Qatar was announced, everyone knew the checks cleared.

These fuckers were doing the same damn thing that blew up figure skating after Salt Lake City.

That sport has never recovered. Football is too popular for that to happen, but FIFA as a body could be in trouble.

The corruption at the top, with regards to placement of World Cup host countries is minor compared to the commonplace lower-level corruption of organized crime influenced match fixing.

There is a separate investigation into the selection of host countries (read Qatar and Russia) underway by the Swiss authorities

When arrested the FIFA officials all threw themselves on the ground and feigned injury.

If FIFA was a bank, we wouldn't be seeing any of this.

FBI's investigation extends to Russian and Qatari world cups

Does the FBI have the jurisdiction?

Will they also investigate the the USA 94 hosting?

Or is this a prelude to another Soccer War

Because they used US banks for their wire fraud, money laundering and racketeering, all areas the Justice Department allows the FBI to prosecute foreign nationals and entities under RICO. The corruption allowed the US to lose the host bid for the 2022 World Cup to fucking Qatar, a shithole sand dune without any real International Caps.

They BUY their entire Olympic and International Teams. For fuck's sake they BOUGHT the goddam Bulgarian Powerlifting Team and are regularly engaging in slavery in Africa to farm-in athletes.

If it weren't for all the Indonesian and Nepalese fucking slaves building their stadiums, all while living in slum-like squalor, they wouldn't have shit for the World Cup.

Do you think it is an extension of US foreign policy against Russia?

I think that, as history has proven, there is absolutely no long-term economic advantage in a country hosting an Olympic Games or World Cup. To point, most countries that have hosted the games find themselves in a larger economic disadvantage with several large 'white elephant' facilities that will never be used, again.

I think Putin deserves to host both the Winter Olympics and the World Cup and taste all the prosperity that Brazil has and will.

This is much bigger than just the FBI, by the time all is said and done Interpol will be in on it...

He asked why the FBI had jurisdiction for investigating.

I think its a positive thing that all the corruption was finally exposed. Hopefully it will be a good thing in the long run.
When a country with no real history or culture of football gets awarded the World Cup, its high time to clean things up. Fucking Canada has more of a football culture than Qatar does.

They should revoke the awarding of the last two World Cups and start the process over again.

They won't, as they might get sued since the host countries have already begun dropping huge coin in preparation.
