I have a white denim jacket by Levi's from the 1970s. Even though it's been washed on hot water with strong detergent and bleach the denim is still stiff, thick, and unworn.
I have a blue denim jacket by Levi's from the 1980s. Even though it was well worn by the previous owner and I've had it myself for a few years now it is still thick and sturdy.
I have a new denim jacket I bought from Levi's earlier this year. It is dark and has only been washed once, but the denim is the thinnest of the three and the buttons and rivets are less substantial.
