tl;dr version - Brit artish Antony Gormly has created 31 life-sized statues of men which have been installed on roofs and ledges of New York's most famous buildings. People keep calling 911 thinking they are jumpers. Cops are pissed off as they have more important things to do than save suicidal statues.

What, and no one thought that might be an issue when they installed them?

Well they already did jet fly-bys for photo ops - it's getting hard to faze New Yorkers.

The artist is British.

Arts? Probably not. Art and music in the school systems? Yes.

I think America has some of the dumbest artists in the world. Art for shock's sake is not art.

I dunno- I consider things like Piss Christ performance art: the performance being the whole kerfluffle than inevitably follows them.

My problem is, there's really only shock art to offend conservatives and religious types. We need shock art to offend atheists and liberals. I say the NEA starts funding Passion Plays.

Have a hereditary head of state with the title 'defender of the faith' of an official state religion. Works for me.

It's called the creationist museum.

Yes, but none of those are funded by your tax dollars. Okay, well, the monarch is but we got rid of that on this side of the Atlantic.

But maybe the NEA shouldn't fund devotional art. Maybe we should have the patron system like back in the day. I'd love a painting of Donald Trump admiring the baby Jesus. We'll call it the Trump Jesus, and put it in a big gold frame.

I don't actually understand shock art.

Woah big surprise there

Yeah, good point. I've decided that I only want to play pop music now because people might get confused with the high fuzz psychedelic stuff.

We are under a mass hypnosis, a mass consciousness hypnosis. Many of us have awakened to this and many are becoming aware of it. It is easier to enslave powerful beings when they have no conscious memory of who they are. However, it does reside in our cellular DNA. All memories are stored there. All. Our energy is one thing they have always robbed us of. Our "landlords" knew this thousands of years ago when they implemented this travesty on humans. Time to awaken and take back your personal power. Not for power's sake. For ourselves, for each other. There are too many of us awake now for them to stop us. Not all aliens are tormenting us. Some are here to help.

People just need to stop watching TV and find ways of acquiring food, clean water and shelter without needing money. All the entertainment you'll ever need comes from the company and music of other free people there with you, a few mild natural intoxicants, and solving puzzles, and building stuff. You don't need BMWs or Prada or McMansions they're forms of slavery.

Mass entertainment is a narcoleptic.

They have this, only the performers aren't pretentious enough to call it art.

One of my coworkers has a friend who walks in Seattle parks with a rifle strapped to his back.

Completely legal here, but he gets the anti-gun nuts in an uproar and gets the cops called on him all the time.

Your coworker is freaking awesome.

You'd really have to be blind to think that was a real person.

Maybe so, but sometimes work get slow I guess. I haven't been to the city in a while. Who paid for this um... art? Hopefully not the taxpayers.

I think it's a worthy project, but he could've gone a step further and used real stuffed bankers.
