Various sources on the interwebz.

A few days ago Mania.com (http://www.mania.com/spiderman-4-villain-revealed_article_118760.html) reported that Rachel McAdams had been in negotiations to join the cast of Spider-Man 4. According to the story she was up for the role of Felicia Hardy, also known as The Black Cat.
http://i.usatoday.net/communitymanager/_photos/paw-print-post/2009/11/10/rachelx-inset-community.jpg

HeyUGuys has learned that Adams isn’t the only actress up for the role.
According to our friendly neighbourhood spider-source there are a number of actresses currently being considered for the role, but this at least confirms that Hardy is going to be in the film.

We were also given a rough outline of the character’s story arc. Apparently she is the daughter of the new editor of The Daily Bugle, a man who is also referred to as ‘a viper’ (more on this in a second). She falls in love with Peter Parker, and uncovers his true identity. Her father then dies, and Hardy becomes a threat to Peter Parker (presumably as The Black Cat).

This doesn’t fit exactly with the comic book incarnation of Hardy, who is the daughter of a cat burglar, but the character’s interaction with Peter Parker is fairly close to that in the comics.

The source also implied that the word viper has some relevance. We’ve been trying to work out what, and we’re at a loss. Looking through the pantheon of marvel characters the only ones known as ‘The Viper’ are villains in Captain America stories, so it’s unlikely that it’s the name of a baddie, although our source did suggest that Felicia’s father is a villain as well as the editor of The Daily Bugle.

We’re hoping to get some more details soon. We’ll let you know as soon as we do.

On the Mania, site it also indicates this:

And it looks like it'll be a two-villain movie. Our source also says they are casting for a male villain, but had few details. However, this would seem to discount the idea that Lizard is the primary, since the role of Dr. Conners has been cast since movie #2.

Ok, I *like* the Black Cat and hot little eye-candy in a skintight black leather suit is never a bad thing....but:

this film needs to be the Kraven's Last Hunt storyline.

FUCKING PERIOD.

They should not continue this series after the last one sucked so bad.

Spiderman 2 was awesome.

3 should have been all about Venom, none of the bromance between Peter and Harry.

The movies are going to get progressively worse with every subplot they add. They should just do something dark and straightforward like the first one.

Spiderman 2 was awesome. It was.
It was Marvel's Superman 2

KNEEL BEFORE DOC!

3 should have been all about Venom, none of the bromance between Peter and Harry. Hobgoblin was a bitch, except when he was in costume, then he was a bad-ass.
New Goblin was pretty much a bitch the whole time.
And Topher Grace is too femme for Venom.

Venom sucked ass in S3. There was no "we" talk. No hint of the symbiote having a mind of its own not just being a suit. Even when Parker goes all emo, it just makes it seem like the suite just makes you an asshole, and not that the suite itself is semi-sentient.

See....that's the point.
That isn't the Hobgoblin.
That's the dudes from Harold and Kumar sneaking into the Bat Cave.

Venom is a good character.
Hobgoblin is a good character.
Hell, Jack O'Lantern is better then New Goblin.

The thing with the Black Cat is, Spidey ends up getting all hot and bothered for her while Mary Jane is off being a successful actress and shit.

They've already done that angle and MJ was having a dalliance with Man-Wolf in Spidey 2.

I never got he was the Hobgoblin..

For me, the Hobgoblin was a yellow mercenary flunkie version of the green goblin.

The Green Goblin is strictly Osbourne territory.

Harry was supposed to become the Hobgoblin as part of the storyline when Green Goblin died, he never did.

So, yes.

Spider Man 2 Agreed. It, like Superman and The Dark Knight is an example of the sequel surpassing the original.
See also:
Hellboy II
Punisher War Zone

SuperMan 1
Doesn't hold up as well as Superman 2 does.

The Incredibles I tried watching this and didn't like it.

Sky High (Yes Sky high) agreed, good movie.
we took a week and just stayed in Vegas for our son's birthday when this came out.
I talked the missus into seeing this in the theatre (c'mon...Kurt Russell AND Bruce Campbell?) and thought it was awesome.

Dark Man Especially considering the budget.
I would also suggest, for this manner of film:
Original Swamp Thing
G-Men From Hell (Mike Allred)

Tim Burton's Batman 1 For the time, yeah. It was the kicker of all things ass. But it isn't holding up. We watched it a few months ago and I'm not digging it like I did.

Batman the Dark Knight First go round, I was thinking "too long" not getting the hype. More I watch it the more I like it.

Superman 2 KNEEL BEFORE ZOD!

Flash Gordon (although is Flash Gordon a super hero? - BTW I mean 80's Flash Gordon with Queen and Brian Blessed in hot pants GREAT MOVIE) Camp factor....yes.
In the same respect that Darkman deserves to be on the list.

Now, I will also admit to liking From Hell, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Wanted, Constantine (despite the obvious departures), 30 Days of Night....so my taste might be called into question.

I would say that we need to find a spot on your list for:

300
Watchmen
Sin City
Blade
the Crow

Rachael McAdams is a decently hot, decently talented actress. However, this role is tailor made for Scarlett Johansen. Sorry to not see her name mentioned.

Finally, someone agrees with me.

What's amazing about Sky High is that it's two genre movies in one

- Super Hero

- 80's style teen angst high school movie compedy

And hits them perfectly.

And the comedy and characters work. Bruce Campbell as a disgruntled Gym . former super hero teacher is perfect and he's identifiable as a real person.

It also doesn't rely on raunchy boob and dick jokes.

Like many great movies it looks like it would have been easy to write and direct.

OH by the way I am an idiot

ROBOCOP!!!!! should be on my list duh!!!!

Here , here..
My suggestion..do a storyline where Peter and MJ are on a temporary break-up to darken the mood and then do the Kraven story(true fans will know the one I mean)...

But they won't. These movies will just suck worse and worse until it dies. The third one was fuckin' terrible.

Johnen Vasquez made fun of this in one of his comics. He had the 400% meatbag with a mysterious past and giant gun teamed up with bigger boobs McGee take on bank robbers from another dimension.

Apparently he's also done a MODOK story for Mavel's Strange Tales!

Bullshit. They are superheroes. They deserve super boobies.

When a lot of the superheroes joined a police task force in Savage Dragon, there was a great scene where they tried to get Dart to put on a regular outfit. She went off on how her ass and boobies distracted her foes.

http://www.blackmermaid.com/images/dart.jpg

She then was sued for excessive force when she "apprehended" a big dude by throwing 200+ darts into him.
