None of these are groundbreaking, but they're all a little difference than just pepperoni or Canadian bacon and pineapple. Try them next time you get the munchies and please direct all thank you letters to my private messaging inbox.

Chicken Margherita
Chicken
Sliced tomato
Garlic
Basil

A margherita on its own is nothing special in my opinion, but the chicken gives it some depth, plus it's like totally sophisticated motherfuckin basil on it and shit.

Hot sauce!
If local pizza menus are any indication this is a horribly underutilized combo. Mix ranch with a hot sauce of your choice, I've heard both 50::50 and 75::25 hot sauce::ranch combinations for the sauce. Most places will pair this with chicken as a Buffalo Chicken specialty but it's great with nearly any toppings. I used to get this all the time with pepperoni.

More common sauce substitutes include ranch, Alfredo or pesto sauce, usually paired with chicken and possibly garlic and basil or oregano. I find Alfredo and ranch strikingly similar and pesto is often overpowered by everything else but if you like these sauces give it a shot.

No sauce!
Make whatever pizza you want normally but with no pizza sauce. Instead cut it into squares and dip it in marinara. Also works well with ranch sauce.

Topping combos
Pepperoni and onions
Pepperoni, onions, and jalapenos holy shit
Chicken, bell peppers, garlic, maybe basil if you want to take the edge off the garlic.
No sauce, garlic and basil with pepperoni and marinara for dipping. This is pretty much garlic breadsticks with pepperoni.

I've really come round to the Italian style pizzas. Very simple. Cheese, tomato base and one type of meat, probably pepperoni. Thin base, baked fresh, maybe some garlic. All you need.

If you make the dough yourself try adding garlic. Don't ask me how much cause I don't make dough.

Try some mustard on your pizza.

Seriously, just try it.

The other week some lady called asking if we had peanuts for a topping.

You work at a really shitty pizza place, don't you?

And they are mediocre.

What's good about pizza?

I think it's OK. But I'd like to hear more about its merits.

THE MUSTARD IS BETTER WHEN PIZZA IS ADDED.

PLAIN YELLOW, JUST LIKE MY CHEESE

'Plain yellow' ?

You mean the slightly sweet synthetic version of german mustard which the rest of the world knows as 'American' mustard ? Because there are different mustards out there, yes there are.

Exactly. It wasn't a rhetorical question.

Sliced meatball with fresh garlic please.

Or perhaps white with fresh garlic - it goes nicely with champagne.

Oh, and REAL pizza. I've allowed Dominos - mostly cause they order it while I'm at work - but REAL pizza only!

Will you cook me pizza, Kiko?

DAYoung

No, no. I've not run for a week or so, so I need to watch what I eat.

The best Pizza I ever ate was in Portugal

Thick pan pizza. Almost one inch
Mozzarella cheese.
Hard boiled eggs. at least enough to fill up the pan. So I'd say 5 or more.
Some hamburger beef around the eggs inside the pan.
Maybe some garlic and seasoning on the top.

Thin crust with seafood. Prawns, anchovies, tuna, scallops, cockles... It's all good.
Not too much cheese, just a little.

Artichokes, corn, onions, olives, herbs are all acceptable vegetable toppings. Plain tomato sauce base, no fucked up barbecue flavourings.

No love for alfredo or white sauce pizzas? Also jalapenos and sun dried tomatoes kick ass.

tips on pizza

topping do not a pizza make

a retarded rise is best
use bread flour
purried tomato is best for sauce (remove seeds first)
canned or heirloom tomatoes are best (as they were bread for flavour not shelf life.
use a pizza stone
get your oven as hot as it will go

calabrese salami is better than pepperoni.

;) I live with a self-confessed carnivore so I have learned how to tempt him with vegetarian (even vegan) food combinations.
