found great deal 2004 Toyota corolla $11000 58000 KM.

one problem though, when it shifts from first to second there is a slight lurch. anyone know if this could be endemic of a larger problem?

a manual would cost more than this thing, It's a good fucking deal; but i would learn stick if it came down to it. I've just never had the opportunity to drive a manual car.

$11k for an '04 Corolla is not a good deal.

A new Vitz is $13k.

KBB says that an '04 Corolla in pristine condition is only worth about $9k.

Listen for $11k, there are a large multitude of cars that are much better you can buy. And a lurching 2nd gear is indicative of either a bad pilot bearing or a bad clutch slave cylinder.

Move on.

1. take $11,000, bank it

2. go to used car lot anywhere in alberta (that's where you live right? calgary or some shit?)

3. buy piece of shit for $1500

4. run it into the ground and spend no money on maintenance, just like every other asshole in that province.

5. repeat until the money runs out.

you're basically doing the same thing.

...if you don't know how to drive a stick, why are you going to buy a manual car?

got a 2006 Toyota corolla standard for $13000 all in, learned how to drive stick on the test drive; do people find that that difficult?

EDIT: i did not buy a car from the future, just the floor mats were from 4006.

MEGA JESUS-SAMA

That's cool, except I just said with all the options. You know, like leather interior and heated seats. Your Corolla was a shit deal.

Robot Jesus
14th January 09, 12:27 AM
umm.. what I'm trying to say is that the product you stated for the price you stated would cost me around $35000 granted we are moving across exchange rates but either your leaving out an important detail or cars cost in America 1/4 what they cost in Canada

MEGA JESUS-SAMA
14th January 09, 12:29 AM
No, I just got a good deal on a used car, several grand below KBB. You payed above KBB for a fucking Corolla. Great job.

Robot Jesus
14th January 09, 12:41 AM
I see, but if you take into account exchange rate, i bought it for about kbb value.
kbb price=10,810.00 USD=13,133.35 CAD
motivated buyer with money being no object i think i did alright. if i didn't need a car right away i could have waited for a better deal but it's not like I'm running out of money any time soon.

Sun Wukong
14th January 09, 12:45 AM
Well, a corolla isn't really that bad of a car, it's a Toyota so it will last forever. I just hope you plan on driving it for awhile.

MJS: you need to take things into perspective.

LA/OC has one very fine thing going for it.

It is a beautiful place to buy a car. It's always a buyers market, you can find almost anything you are looking for and if you look hard enough, you can get an amazing deal.

He's in a rural province of Canada... probably not so much the gigantic avarice prone orgy of consumerism that the LA/OC area is.

Not to mention the perk of living near LA. awesome.

problem i had, i got a good deal for my market. there not a damn thing out there, and the plan is to drive it forever.

but to a more pressing matter, do people find driving stick difficult? i learned it in a few seconds during the test drive, sure I'm clumsy but it wasn't difficult at all.

MEGA JESUS-SAMA
14th January 09, 01:03 AM
not really. it's easy to pick up it's just difficult to be consistent at first. enjoy your first dead stop on a steep uphill slope.

and you're still probably going to turn your first clutch into coffee even if you are a natural

1. Any toyota that wasn't made pre-2003 doesn't get the perk of being bullet proof.

2. You got fucked in the ass. You paid about 5k more than you should have.

Here are cars you could've gotten for that price:

'06 Subaru Legacy GT
'98-'05 Subaru Impreza WRX
'97-'01Honda Integra Type R
04' Ford Mustang Cobra
02' Chevy Camaro
'95 Toyota MR2 Turbo
'95 Toyota Supra Turbo
00-03' Toyota MR2 Spyder
04 Mitsubishi Evolution VIII
99-01 Honda Civic SI
00-03 Toyota Celica GTS

These are just cars off the top of my head. All of these cars WAY better than the Corolla in EVERY way.

You done fucked up kid.

I've spent my entire life in the suburbs surrounded by only the most bland, marketable shit. Almost nothing here is actually nice, you have to go to LA if you want to find something unique.
