Anybody got any New Year's recipes of food ideas?

In my neck o the woods, it is sour kraut and black-eyed peas; which I hate.

I'd appreciate some suggestions.

Happy New Year!

Sauerkraut and Pork is the tradition around here. When I came up, we'd have lobster for new years.

I love both of those...but we don't have any traditions regarding food on New Years Day.

I like little munchy stuff. Shrimp and cocktail sauce, various easily baked Hors d' oeuvres. Ya know, chips- dips- chains-whips!

I'm rocking the romantic French meal for two this year. Simple and delicious:

And of course, plenty of this stuff:

Unless I am going to a party, I always let somebody else cook a nice romantic dinner for me n the ollady. Most of the nice restaurants around here do prix fixe menus on new years. This year looks like it will be here (http://www.digsbistro.com/).

fondue is popular with my family, this year my parents (well actually me because they can't cook) are having Swiss as an appetizer, oil for plat principal with crab on the side.

W00t! Consider it's about 78 degrees here, we can all go down to the beach after eating.
