I just read this on yahoo, and if I am reading this article right, families of the victims of flight 93 are trying to get the Bush administration to strip property rights of the crash site from its rightful owner. Now, I am not an insensitive jerk, but just because a plane crashes in someone's property doesn't magically make it everybody's. Building a memorial is one thing, but stripping someone of their property to get one is un-American as it gets. WTF?

You know I'm sure if the families had pooled their money together they could have bought a couple of acres in which the plane crashed and I wouldn't be surprised the land owner would have obliged.

Did I read that right .A "2,200-acre memorial"?Is this right? It was terrible tragedy but I know it doesn't deserve a anything bigger then a wall of names.Like the Vietnam memorial.

Sounds less like a memorial and more like an emo theme park to me.

Some people are really pushing it. They think because something bad happened to them then z0mg nothing worse has ever happened to anybody.

I'm with Poops. I don't see how much more there could be... it's just a bunch of fucking pussies that think they are entitled to the land their loved ones died on just because they died in a way that got a lot of press coverage and doesn't happen in America that much.

You think people whose families get suicide bombed in some fucked up middle-eastern country would do or even imagine something like this? These people need to go fuck themselves

If you take a look at the Swiss Air 111 memorial in Nova Scotia is quite tasteful and it didn't seem to anything close to one acre of space.

It's ridiculous is what it is.This isn't a war memorial or even a death camp.I think what this is is this has less to do with remembering the passengers who died more to do with competing against the 9/11 memorials that haven't even been buit in New York still.

Quoted for massive truth. What else would you need 2,200 acres of land for? Oh wait, the flight 93 country club.

Wow, way to completely squander any and all social capital you "earned" by being related to victims of a tragedy.

MAYBE ITS A GOVERNMENT PLOT TO GET PEOPLE TO STOP CARING ABOUT 911 SO THEY DONT DISCOVER THE TRUTH OMG WERE CLOSE GUYS KEEP IT UP LOOSE CHANGE WHAT REALLY HAPPENED

It's a terrible thing that happened, but at an estimated $58 million, I think that money could be better spent in this shitty economy.

I support the concept in theory. But it is so begging for abuse that I pretty much always oppose it in practice.
