I actually got this a few months ago but when the Great Scilon War came up I decided it was best to keep them off the interbutts.

Here's our new Mazdaspeed 6. Had 300 miles on it when we got it.

It's ok, though. Mine's a wagon.

Good taste, maybe?

I haven't dyno'd it after putting on the CAI but I imagine it's pushing 300 hp. The AWD system isn't as good as the one on our WRX, but it's still great. And it came with 19" wheels from the factory but the body shape makes them look smaller somehow.

We were looking at those too but got a great deal on this. They're pretty even performance-wise until you start messing with them. I think the MS6 has an edge in handling but Subaru's AWD makes it a bit faster off the line.

One step at a time.

Do you need a car Steve? If you don't, I envy you. If you have access to reliable public transportation or generous car-owners, I'd say f-it car ownership in the a. In fact, I may have to sell my beloved for something more economical. Never has there been a story of more woe....

Steve
30th May 08, 11:54 PM
No, I don't need a car at all. The Seattle Metro system is very good, I'm lucky to live close to a line that gets me to every place I need to go (one bus, I mean).

That being said, I do have access to my mom's Honda Accord right now. It's very convenient and therefore a luxury I'm indulging in too much (it's a bane when gas is going for $4-4.50/gallon nowadays).

I hate wagons except for the 04-05 WRX Wagons. Also, 2000 Legacys suck except for their brakes which swap over onto Imprezas.

I'm already buying 2, 2.5RS, thanks anyway.

No, it's a DR-Z 400S, not a DR650. It's not the fastest bike in the world but it'll hit 100 at least, and it's a hell of a lot of fun to ride. Plus, it's the sportier, more advanced bike of the two. It handles pretty much exactly like a MX bike, which I'll admit takes a bit of getting used to when traveling at high speeds (around 70 mph and over). The first time I took it on a freeway I was scared shitless.

Nice boattail there, one of the nicest I've seen. Too many are marred by nasty vinyl roofing -- even when the vinyl's in good condition, it messes up the nicest line on the car.

Didn't like 'em when they came out, but they've grown on me. Though not this much. (http://www.buick-riviera.com/pictures/netherlands/Tatoo2.jpg)

Here's a nice one:

OTOH, I've always had a hankering for a '65:

Yes, I'll sit through Roadhouse long enough to see both Rivs.

Roadhouse is sweet, regardless of any outside facts.

But yeah, I love the boat tails. 68 Vette would do some good in that clump as well.

My Dad's Buick is a fine example of Detroit Powerhouse, as outdated as that may be.

If I was going to by a new car it would be one of these (http://www.delorean.com/). The door opening upwards combined with the white trash shit-tastic body is awesome.

And time traveling would be a bonus.

Listen nigger. Let's do some math here.

345 crank hp.

With a longitudinally mounted transmission, you're getting a 20% drivetrain loss, and I'm being conservative here. Chrysler's drivetrain loss is generally about 30-35%. But I'm gonna give you the benefit of the doubt.

with a 20% loss, you're actually only making 276whp, MAYBE.

At a curb weight of 3700lbs (I know it's more, I'm being nice.) with only 276whp pushing you around. You have a power to weight ratio of 13hp/lb. Not bad, still very shitty.

My MR2 has been dyno'd at 220whp and 230ft/lbs. It weights approx 2600lbs. My power to weight ratio is 11hp/lb. So my car is faster than yours.

Not only that your car weights 3fucking700 lbs. It's slower in every respect to my car. Suck it.

I'm currently building a 300whp, 2600lbs Impreza 2.5RS. I'll have more whp than you and a much lighter car and selling the MR2.

Unfortunately, I don't drag race very often any more. I pretty much think it's beneath me now. If you're down for a tarmac rally stage run, then for sure.

But if you're so inclined to a drag race, my impreza will be about a low 13 second, maybe high 12 second car.
