Uh, whut?

http://scifipedia.scifi.com/images/thumb/1/13/Tinman-cast-1.JPG/300px-Tinman-cast-1.JPGTin Man is the SCI FI Channel's twist on L. Frank Baum's classic novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, a six-hour miniseries premiering on December 2, 2007.

A sometimes psychedelic, often twisted, and always outrageous take on the book, SCI FI's Tin Man is the epic tale of DG (Zooey Deschanel), a young woman plucked from her humdrum life and thrust into The Outer Zone (the O.Z.), a fantastical realm rife with wonder, but oppressed by dark magic. In the adventure of a lifetime, DG discovers her true identity, battles evil winged-monkey-bats, and attempts to fulfill her destiny. Her perilous journey begins on the fabled Old Road that leads to a wizard known as the Mystic Man (Richard Dreyfuss).

http://scifipedia.scifi.com/images/thumb/6/67/Tinman-cast-2.JPG/300px-Tinman-cast-2.JPGAlong the way, she is joined by a decidedly strange trio of companions—"Glitch" (Alan Cumming), an odd man missing half his brain; "Raw" (Raoul Trujillo), a quietly powerful wolverine-like creature longing for inner courage, and "Cain" (Neal McDonough), a heroic former policeman (known in the O.Z. as Tin Men, for their tin badges) seeking vengeance for his scarred heart. Ultimately, DG's destiny leads her to an emotional and terrifying showdown with the scintillatingly wicked sorceress Azkadellia (Kathleen Robertson), whose ties to DG are closer than anyone could have imagined. DG's life, as well as the very future of the O.Z., hangs in the balance.

Tin Man is executive produced by Robert Halmi, Sr. and Robert Halmi, Jr. Co-writers Steven Long Mitchell and Craig Van Sickle (Medical Investigation, The Pretender) also serve as executive producers on the project. Nick Willing (Jason & The Argonauts, Alice in Wonderland) directs.

The SCI FI Channel original air date: December 2, 2007.

Ok, either this has epic fail written all over it or it has just kinda fail. Oh, wait. It's a mini series..... Perhaps it has some promise after all.

Or not.

Oh, Richard Dreyfuss, what have you become?

At what point do they get thrown into jail and shanked and assraped by a Nigerian drug dealer? It looks like everyone involved in the production of this shit deserves it.

Any time some hippy comes by the temple and makes a comment about "No Mind", I always start humming "If I Only Had a Brain..."

Yeah, but one of the previews showed a gunfight in it. C'mon, The Wizard of Oz with gunfights? It's like GTA:OZ. I'll give it a chance, even though my money's on it sucking hard.

It has Zooey Deschanel in it, so I'm required by law to like it.

You just smeared your own face in fresh, steaming fail by even bringing this lamery up. Clue: None of the people here who matter give a fuck about your shitty lo-budget sci-fi TV series and we all had higher hopes for you. Read a fucking book, looser.

Gawd I hate Mcfarlane "action" figures. They're unposeable statues. There is nothing action about them.

Your trolling is really quite pathetic. It's the internet, I'm sorry that you place so much value on your time spent viewing it.

Which seems to be ALL THE TIME.

Huh?

Is that supposed to be some sort of laughable threat? I'm sure that the "people who matter" are as curious as I am.

I just watched about 30 minutes of the show. Godfuckingdamnit I hate the Sci-Fi channel. Fucking cliche, and exactly what you'd expect a shitty Sci-Fi original clusterfuck to be.

Bleah.

So epic fail, as I thought.

*not surprised*

i've said it before, no matter what material they have to work with the sci-fi channel just seems like it's allergic to success. it's like their mission statement is, "MEDIOCRE: because that's how we like it"

Damnit I liked "The Lost Room (http://www.sociocide.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48749)"

You're all making me doubt my liking it.

I <3 mediocrity

exactly, and they cancelled it before it got started. they shut it down and turned a blossoming TV show series that people would have liked into a 'mini-series' where it died and will never return.

Do the still just show reruns of Farscape?

Also, New Flash Gordon...ugh.

I actually didn't know The lost room was supposed to be an ongoing series, I see now why part 3 seemed rushed... Curses!
