Well, most of them anyways; football, baseball, basketball, lacrosse.... meh.

But soccer, that I like.

Perhaps it has something to do with playing soccer for 12 years. Perhaps it has something to do with being able to see a soccer ballin play whereas I can't really see the others (issue of contrast, size). Perhaps it's simply that all those other ball chasing sports suck.

Yeah, you heard me.

Maybe it's a colour thing, as most soccer balls are a patchwork of black and white .

Gridiron = brown pigskin
Aussie rules = red leather
Cricket = Tiny red leather ..
9-ball= mix (Hey ... ya have to chase them around the table)

Etc .....

Can I do an Omega style "Your Sport Sucks" thread?

Can we also, between us, come up with a better name for this forum? I shall go put on my witticisms thinking cap.

I like playing soccer, only way I'll run because running is boring. Don't really watch it since it really isn't that exciting though I can appreciate it.

Hockey. Not a ball, but the new NHL is more entertaining than the old.

Now fire soccer, that's a sport I like watching!!!!

I think it's rather kickass the way it is.

Well, I'll through out a lazy suggestion: We have Geekdom, seems the opposite would be Jockdom. Or something like that...

I liked hockey as a kid. All the other kids liked basketball but I liked hockey better. I was taller than the other kids too and they thought I was weird for not liking basketball and would rather play hockey. Do they even have Youth Hockey teams in the Bay Area? I'm only 6'3 now I have no idea what they're talking about. Perhaps in another life I was Canadian.

Question!
11th May 07, 01:20 PM
Professional football (soccer) sucks!! The best way to get a penalty kick is to crash into another player then throw yourself to ground clutching your knee in AGONY! LAME!

Speaking of which why do Mexicans and other Hispanics love soccer so much?

Question!
11th May 07, 01:58 PM
Because it is immensely popular in their native countries?

I was looking for an answer that may have eluded me. But yes that's true.

Would it help to know that "SPORTS SPORTS SPORTS" mocks Fyrestarter? Something about the wallpaper border in a pic of himself he once posted....

Yeah, I just saw where Phrost mentions that over on Bullshido.

Please tell me you have the pic....?

I wasn't too fond of the forum name but if it has history I can dig it.

Watch aussie and new zealand rugby, that game is most fun that can be had in an arena without the romans being present.

No chasing...

So you like the ball hitting sports? Like golf, or tennis, ping pong, or Reaux Sham Beaux...

Ah, Curling.

The Scots really did invent the dumbest sports. They hould have stuck with good alcohol, killing the british, and clan warfare.

The Scots invented golf as revenge against the English for conquering them.

My first "observations", where I'd go into a class and take notes on the teacher running it, were with a wrestling coach/English teacher. I still remember his tirades against football/baseball/soccer/basketball/etc. He said, "In those games you chase balls. They arn't sports. They are games! In wrestling you don't chase meaningless things around, which is why it's the best sport there is."

Yeah... every class was a recruiting session.

Wrestling > Ball chasing. Sorry.

"Something about grown men running around chasing balls that puts me off."

Forgot who said that. Possibly someone from here/Bullshido.

Of course you could also say 'Something about grown men rolling around trying to submit each other blah blah *insert gay joke here*'

I generally don't go in for team/ball sports, but I love Slamball.

It's basketball with trampolines people!

I hate football and I hate football fans even more. Imagine a pack of cave-dwelling imbeciles getting violent/tearful about 22 overpaid, violent, retarded, closet homosexual chavs prancing about an eye-flayingly GREEN pitch, and you will then understand why.

Seriously, though - I think the average national IQ plummets by 20 points whenever the World Cup is on. How else to explain the upsurge in pointless tribalism, twat behaviour and the grotesque spectacle of bored, unhappy oafs fixating on a fucking ball?

i can tolerate soccer; i think it's because my complete inability to throw or catch is a non-issue.

Soccer is OK..but I find it hard to watch an entire game sometimes.
Basketball is fun to play, but boring to watch. Same with baseball.
Football is OK, but not enough consistent action. Too much stop in play.
Hockey, Boxing , MMA top three sports for me.
