I have to say, it looks kinda plagerized...?

No, not really. Not at all. This looks like a horror movie. Stranger than Fiction looks funny.

I think Loops was kidding.

I hope...

Question!

The problem is that Jim Carrey is so stereotyped/typecast that even when he makes a 'serious' acting face, people may still subconsciously associate it with comedy which might hurt this movie's appeal.

What ever could you mean???

I'm SO tired of his 'serious eyes' look.

Also the memory of Batman Forever and Batman & Robin aka Batman on Ice will haunt Joel Schumacher forever.

No, not really. Not at all. This looks like a horror movie. Stranger than Fiction looks funny.

So if I make a movie about a guy with a chainsaw and hockey mask getting into hilarious perdicaments involving the killing of adults, it won't be plagerism?

Steve

No, just a sequel.

Question!

I guess the degree of similiarity between the two movies will be determined by which plot-line is given more emphasis: How his life is similiar to the book or the number 23 itself, and how he keeps 'finding' it everywhere.

Steve

The only similarity between the films is that they both involve a book.

Using that logic, we could compare them both to the Evil Dead series of films.

His life is based on a book that has an ending he doens't like but it's yet to happen. You can't get much more specific than that.

Steve

So then the Evil Dead movies are just like The Number 23 and Stranger than Fiction?

I'm confused. How is someone writing a book about Ash's life but hasn't finished it?

But it wasn't.

I like metaphysical plot lines as much as the next guy -- maybe more -- but this was kind of so-so. Ferrell did just fine in a straight role; it wasn't his fault.

Sorry that it's taken me so long to get back to this:

I'm confused. How is someone writing a book about Ash's life but hasn't finished it?

I think that's where our points differ. The Number 23 and The Evil Dead series are about books that have already been written, while Stranger Than Fiction is about a book being written.

That's where I'm saying that the comparison doesn't work so well.

If Carey wanted to make a splash in a thrillers, why would he pick the a movie about the 23 frequency enigma? (http://afgen.com/numbr23b.html)

Stop it, you're scaring me.

I bet I could make a longer web page if I used the numbers 3, 7, and 11.

Steve

But 3 X 7 = 21

And then if you write 11 as a 1 and a 1, then add them together: 1 + 1 = 2

Then 21 + 2 = 23

Weird.

Sure, it's the ANSWER, but....

1.8260869565217391304347826086957 X 23 = 42

Scary.
