Okay so for those of you who have been following this series. The rapist is supposed to reveal himself in the 9th episode. There are supposed to be three "main" mysteries this season. Who are your main suspects?

Evidence - What we know for fact

The rapist is white.

Unless there's a copycat rapist around - the rapist has been around since Veronica Mars and company arrived. So he's had to have been around for some time.

If the series follows the formula of the past seasons - the rapist has already likely been introduced and has made several appearances. It's just less dramatic if someone noone knows is exposed as the rapist.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dr. Landry - Head of the Criminology department. Obviously he would know how best to avoid leaving evidence and plan these rapes. He's also been revealed to be a womanizer who is currently railing the Dean's wife. Not the smartest career choice but although I can't rule him out - would a womanizer go out of his way to plan the rapes of University girls?

Also with the introduction in the latest episode (EP 7) with his final project being "the perfect crime" in which the students have to devise a flawless crime, it seems remotely possible that he (or his assistant) could have had similar projects in the past in which they could have devised their modus operatus.

Personally I don't think he did it. But you can't really rule him out. He seems more like a red herring than anything.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dr. Landry's SA - It's possible. He's not the womanizer Landry is, and has never really been seen with any sort of female interest. Also, Parker was raped shortly after Veronica pretty much publically humiliated him. Parker had fairly long blond hair, not unlike Veronica. It's possible she could have been the result of a type of "vicarious revenge". Kinda' like what Duncan's mother did in the second season with her helper. Just a thought.

Also Veronica was almost raped (again) in episode 7. Could it be revenge for the internship possibility for Veronica at the FBI?

He's a more likely suspect than Dr. Landry. He's probably overlooked the same documents as Landry regarding the "perfect murder" and other such papers and probably has at least the information regarding police conduit for crimes as Landry.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The RA (whatever his name is)

He just gives off a creepy vibe. Maybe it's his constant offerings of Oolong tea or his overly peaceful demeanor. But it's possible underneath that calm, peaceful exterior he's a sick fracker.

Plus he was one of the people who escorted Parker back to her apartment the night she was roofied. That doesn't exactly bode well for him.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Dean

Personally I find it highly unlikely that it's the Dean. He just seems more like a bumbling old fool than anything. On the other hand the major criminals have generally been somewhat prominant figures in the community (Echolls, the well known actor and the Mayor).

However there is an outside chance that it is him. Though the idea of a ... whatever year old man (50+?) sneaking by the entire student body to goto parties and roofie girls and shave their heads seems a little retarded (at least, with the present information anyways).

I just get the feeling that it isn't him, but he deserves an honourable mention.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lastly I read the possibility that it was a female. I don't really think this is likely, but who knows? This show is all about twists. I'm not saying the female is going around "raping" females in the traditional sense. More like she's drugging them, shaving their heads and making them undergo the ordeal of rape.

Just a possibility.

Anyhow, yeah.

Some people claim that it could be Dick (Casablancas) because of his line in the first episode "I screwed up bad" or whatever. As I believe he's scheduled for about 13 more episodes and if only for the simple fact that;
a) his brother was last season's main criminal
b) his father was a criminal
c) the majority of the rest of his family were criminals in one way or another.

Other'n that. Make your predictions people - chances are you'll have a decent possibility at being right, even if it's for the wrong reasons.

It's definitely a selling point on the show that pretty much every girl has a good body. Unfortunately I can't find a picture of the time she dressed like a japanese schoolgirl to "infiltrate" a gamers club. I'll also admit that I.... that I.... watched "Pulse" just because she was in it.

*hangs head*

Terrible movie.

However "Leia's Slave Outfit" comes to mind as another good picture.

That comic is painfully accurate.

And, TT, I too regretably watched Pulse just cause she was in it..... god that movie sucked. No fault of her own really, it's just.... I mean a PG-13 horror movie, blegh.

And that Slave Leia pic is great.

RE t3h r4p1st!

Landry's assistant is on my list of suspects, Landry himself is not. I just don't see any reason for Landry himself to do it, he seems pretty happy with his illicit affairs. The TA on the other hand is goofy little slime-ball (interestingly played by the same actor who did the short lived Lucky last season) who is clearly either keeping track of the crimes on his own or has a freaking trophy board; his cork-board collage seemed to include a lot of polaroid or snapshot style portraits of the victims with their heads shaved, would those head shots have been made available to the public? I think not.

The Dean.... like Landry, I can't really see how or why. Why is debateable, but it's even more implausible that he's capable of pulling this stuff off and not being noticed- he's an obvious old man that a fair number of students would recognize on sight, he would've been noticed by now.

I doubt it's the RA who loves tea and Battlestar Galactica (Veronica using frak from time to time makes me titter like a school girl), the guy hasn't had nearly enough air time. Beaver and Mr. Echols were both far more established characters.

In that vein, the girls of the Lilith House (what a horridly obvious harpy name) are my prime suspect/s. OK, it's really unlikely that the rapist is a woman and even far more unlikely to be a group, but that pack of emasculators has been portrayed so unsympathetically I can see it. Plus there's the whole fake rape which they used to win their argument against the dorks of the school lampoon magazine, that was low. Also, Landry's TA made a point of telling V that it was interesting that no genetic evidence whatsoever had been found to that point- hair, semen, blood-, now either the TA is bragging or.... well a short haired chick with a strap on isn't all that likely to leave genetic evidence, is she?

My thoughts.

Uhh, didn't they reveal the rapist in this episode? It seems to me that they've pretty much confirmed it was a girl. The revelation was much less impressive then I thought it'd be. Boo-urns.

Also, Mars FTW in her relationship with Echolls. She's really pwn3d him repeatedly.

Meh, the new episode kind of sucked ass as compared to the last one. I find this season to be nowhere near the quality of the last two ones. Possibly it's because she's turning into a big bitch.

Veronica - "Well my boyfriend saved me from getting raped(?) and getting my head shaved after I had ignored his phone calls and hadn't told him where I was staying and ignoring his repeated phone calls, only for him to find out first hand that I had been staying at another boy's house. Well after he rescues me he hires a personal bodyguard for me out of his own pocket and states that he loves me and says that we should "take it easier" on each other I ignore more of his phone calls".

I understand that this is probably just a ploy to get her and Pez to hook up. But not only do I dislike Pez, I think they're fucking up the character of VM. What I like about her is that she represents an ideal (used to, anyways). On the other hand maybe this is realistic behavior for highschool sweethearts that go to University, I dunno'. Never been to Uni.

In conclusion Dick is the funniest character in the show.

Well, episode 9 has partly redeemed my faith in VM (for now).

Highlights -
- LoVe is no more. Bring on the Pez (sighs)
- Finding out who the rapist is. It's a two man operation and I guessed one of them correctly.
- Dean O'Dell was murdered
- Logan's face after he got himself put in jail to get next to the two rapists was priceless.
- Now we have a murderer. We don't know what happened when the Dean confronted his wife.

Anyhow I just loved the way the episode started off. Plus it raised a bunch of new questions. Looking forward to the next episode.

Guesses -

Landry was the one who shot the Dean. My guess is because he was planning on divorcing his wife/firing-slash-ruining the career of Landry. If he's dead then only Keith and Veronica know about the affair. Plus there's the whole "Perfect Murder" thing. I'm mostly just guessing this because there's not really any other suspects that I can think of, plus it seems the most viable. Landry(?) also seemed to make it look like a suicide.

It seems kinda' inevitable Pez and VM are going to hook up now. This bothers me. Pez is just so.... emo/punk. Ugh.

The rapist caught me a little off guard, especially the whole tag-team aspect. My guess is the RA loves Mercer and serves him, would fit with the slapping and the guy's personality and how he responded to the situation.

Still, what the fuck happened that Logan thought Mercer was in Mexico with him when one of the rapes went down? Or was that rape that Logan served as the alibi for the one the Lilith House faked? Can't recall.

The look on Logan's face when they put him in the holding cell with those two slime balls and he clenched his fists- I hope we ge to see what he does tot hem or at least what left of them when the cops drag him away... if the cops even do. While Sheriff Lamb is indeed a cock, it seems pretty clear that the office itself remembers Keith fondly and proably has a soft spot in its collective heart for Veronica, Deputy Sacks for example. I think they'll let Logan get his licks in for a little while.

Logan and Veronica will be back together once they both grow up a little. I think so anyways. It was pretty sharp when Logan told her he was there for her if she ever needed him but that she never does- I got all girly and emotional.

Piz is an alright guy, but he seems a better fit for MAc, not Veronica. Also, for being in the opening credits, Mac and Weevil have been really underutilized lately.

Who killed the dean? I don't know. Can't wait to find out.

It was really neat to see Veronica enlisting the aid of her friends at the party, really getting everyone working as a team. Mac letting her drink get spiked, Wallace and Piz working the dancing couple, all great stuff.

Oh, and Veronica should seriously consider upgrading to a gun... seriously. Her father uses one, she's not old enough yet for concealed carry I guess- not even sure if you can get concealed carry in CA. Anywho, her tazor just isn't cutting it for the situations she gets herself into, she lucked out witht he unicorn- great improved weapon though- was a real great referance to the 70's horror movie "Black Christmas" where the psycho killer comes into the drunk girl's room and stabs her to death with one of her many unicorn statues.

Damn good episode.

In the very first episode the RA seems to space out for a minute and says "Yeah it's pretty intense. ... Like... life changing" before snapping out of it which was kind of a hint. But I have to say that duo business definitely caught me off guard. How the hell do you go from "Prison Guard/Prisoner" relationship to "team rapists". I can understand if the RA got turned into a bum pumping homo, but female rapist?

I guess the RA was the "Mr. Slave" to Mercer's "Garrison".

I dunno'. I think the rape that Ben got accused for was one of the "fake rapes" which they revealed in Episode 8. Just my take on things anyways.

Yeah, I just sighed since I knew the only real reason they would introduce Pez is to create a new love interest for Veronica. Gotta' keep it fresh I guess? She really doesn't seem all that interested in him so I'm kind of interested in seeing how that plays out.

I thought Mac's shirt "Ask me about my STD" was pretty funny.

Good point about the gun. I mean tazer - highschool - sure.
But it's university. Time to graduate baby!

On the other hand she couldn't even shoot Beaver "My Name is Cassidy" Casablancas even when she learned that he had -

1) Raped her and given her an STD
2) Killed her classmates
3) (Thought) he had killed her father
4) Was planning on killing her and had tried to kill Logan

I really doubt another character is going to give her more reasons than that. Plus giving her a gun would turn her into a "Judge Dredd" type character as opposed to the funnier and hotter version of Nancy Drew that she is.

Veronica needs BJJ, a knife or a gun

There was nothing special about Logan's face when he entered the cell. It's the face he always does.
