I personally like Skin, the singer from Skunk Anansie, but I doubt there is any correllation between the two:(

Yeah, they did a few years ago. Each of the members is doing side projects and solo stuff, but none have replaced an album on their own. Kind of like Concrete Blonde, almost.

what i don't understand is why the hell the bassist from perfect circle went and joined smashing pumpkins v2.0 errr Zwan. Anyway Joe, who knew you were the closet metal head :)

Breaking Benjamin - Skin

The beginning of this song is very familiar but I can't figure out why.

Prodigal Sin
22nd February 03, 01:26 PM
Similar to the beginning of the classic:

You Sexy Thing - Hot Chocolate

...but it's something else... Someone help me figure it out before it drives me crazy.

The first 15 seconds of Skin? Yeah it reminded me of some other song or somethin as well, but I'm already crasy so it didn't affect me :D.

I Love Rock and Roll by Joan Jett. Not very similar under careful examination, but if you haven't heard it in a while they sound similar as well.

Dashboard Confessional - Swiss Army Romance, and For you to Notice
The Cavaliers - Four Corners ;)

Breaking Benjamin isn't very good; they sound too much like Nickelback/3 Doors Down, 2 bands that I hate.

I can't listen to Zwan. The bassist looks very much like an ex and I find it freaky. Is that a reason not to listen to a band? Well, I wasn't impressed with the music either. :D

Rhemiel138: Fyre, don't be gay. BB sounds nothing like those bands, like at all. Uhm... SPORTS. from Derreck with love k...

I like both those bands alright, so be it if BB falls into that category :).

hehe Fyre pretty much hit that nail on the head. BB on top of being horribly generic, sucks rather large balls.

Most of the time I agree with Derreck's picks, but BB? Ugh.

Closet Metal Head? Dayamn, all this time I've been faking the funk? I was frontin a different color?

Naw, I've always been into metal, played in metal bands, hung out with metalheads, etc. I finally cut off my long hair last year, I miss it, so I'm growing it back.

I never thought it was much of a secret that you were a metal head. ;)

I'm more of an old school SMG fan - Sins of the Flesh, or Torture Technique, tough choice. Just about everything Randall has a hand in is worthwhile however.

Being a musician, originally a classical violinist, I tend to have a wide variety of musical tastes, I can appreciate any genre. For pure music, I think the 70's produced better music than any other era, so I tend to listen to alot of it. Where as the 60's had 'free love', the 70's had 'free music'.

Jeff 'Skunk' Baxter of The Doobie Brothers and Steely Dan once said it would take him a week to find a comfortable chair at the studio to even begin recording. Bands had free reign to do just about anything they wanted with their music and had much more control than the bands these days.

95% of the time I post from work, since I'm going out of my brains dealing with very computer illiterate people, I tend to listen to music that keeps my blood pressure from spiking, lest I verbally attempt to murder someone. At home, it's whatever I'm in the mood for.

This weekend it was:

Shiva, the self titled album (new Nordic band that's good guitar rock)
Black Sabbath - Never Say Die
Badlands - Voodoo Highway
George Lynch - Sacred Groove
Steve Vai - Fire Garden

I think alot of folks on these boards would dig Sacred Groove, but only the musicians would appreciate Fire Garden, but I still recommend all the above for anyone looking for a new rock CD to pick up.

You must go purchase Torture Technique. You can listen to it over and over again. Nothing is the best song. Randall still makes good music, but he made better music all strung out on everything. ;)

joo got it mang. I'll get some torture technique and sins of the flesh and see how the jingle jangles.
